Configure License

Learn how data licenses work on the Datalab and how to configure your license as a seller.

Data sellers on the Datalab have flexibility when it comes to configuring their data license. To get started with configuring your license, select the Configure License button within the listings editor.

This will bring up the license editor where you can select a base license (variant of PSDLA), the license duration in years (1 to 10 years), and any custom clauses (if that version of the license accepts custom clauses).

To add custom clauses, for example, a field limited use scope, you can click Add Clause and preview the license to the right by toggling Show compiled .

Clicking Save & Apply will save your license and any custom clauses.

Editing a License

You can always go back and edit your license after publishing your listing, however, if a sale occurs the version of that license at the time of sale will be logged and agreed upon between buyer and seller. This can be viewed within the Data Studio on the Sales tab (for sellers) and Purchases & Downloads for buyers.
